A 6-month construction project will impact traffic on Common Street.

Beginning Nov. 7-April 2020, the city of New Braunfels will conduct road repairs and improve pedestrian accommodations on a roughly 1-mile stretch of Common between Gruene Road and Sundance Parkway.

Traffic lanes will be shifted in various areas from 9 a.m.-3 p.m, and a protected turn lane will be used as a travel lane, according to a city news release.

As a result, drivers that need to turn left near the construction zone will not have the protection of a turn lane. All lanes will be re-opened after work hours.

The Common Street project is part of the Citywide Streets Improvement Program. It was approved by voters in a 2013 Bond and will cost $923,408, said Charlie Blue, city Assistant Capital Project Manager.
