CIS began in 1993 by serving three elementary schools before quickly expanding to include middle schools and high schools. CIS has since grown to serve students of all ages in six different school districts.
CIS said in a press release that the organization’s accomplishments would not have been possible without endless support from the community, school districts, agencies, donors and its Board of Directors.
“The communities we serve are the life blood of this organization. Financial supporters as well as volunteers give food, clothing, school supplies, and most importantly their time. We are blessed to be able to bring the community into the schools as our name suggests,” CIS CEO Chris Douglas said “We thank each and every one of you who have been a part of helping us to be here for kids...” Individuals, civic groups, churches, small and large businesses, foundations – THANK YOU!”
