Forty-three cardboard boats of various shapes and sizes held together with duct tape and luck were part of the Thru the Chute Boat race in New Braunfels April 27. The boats with one or more captains and crew made their way through the city’s tube chute one-by-one as hundreds of people cheered from the banks of the Comal River.
