New Braunfels-based Resolute Health Hospital earned its fifth consecutive A rating for the Spring 2022 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade report.

Resolute is part of the Baptist Health System, which operates health care facilities in San Antonio and South Central Texas.

The Leapfrog Group was founded in 2000 and assigns grades to all general hospitals across the country every six months, according to a press release from Resolute. The organization assesses how well the hospital prevents medical errors and harm to patients.

An A rating is a national distinction, according to the release, and more than 30 national performance measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services are used to determine a hospital’s rating.

“This is important for the community to know as they count on us to keep our patients, staff and physicians safe every day,” CEO of Resolute Mark Bernard said in the release.

Leapfrog’s biannual reports are peer-reviewed, published in the Journal of Patient Safety and are available to the public online.
