In the 2023 bond election, voters cast their ballots to approve around $99 million in funding transportation projects throughout New Braunfels. Residents now have the opportunity to provide feedback on two of the projects; the Common Street improvement project as well as the Barborosa Road and Saur Lane improvement project.
Funding transportation projects made up 71% of the total $140 million bond, and the city has begun the process of designing two of the eight projects identified in the bond.
The city of New Braunfels will hold two open house meetings to review the preliminary designs for the two projects. The meetings will allow residents to view project schematics, review the layout and design components of the projects, and provide feedback on the plans before construction begins, according to a news release.
“These are meetings that will be held as the city prepares to begin work on the projects approved by voters in the 2023 bond election,” Transportation and Capital Improvements Director Garry Ford said. “Meetings like these are great opportunities for residents to learn more about each project, ask questions and provide valuable feedback before construction begins on these projects.”
A timeline for the projects has not yet been defined by the city. More information on projects approved in the 2023 bond election can be found at www.newbraunfels.gov/bond.
