Comal County residents can provide feedback on a Hazard Mitigation Action Plan, which is required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The plan will focus on reducing the risk of life and property posed by naturally occurring events including storms and floods.

“As part of this process, the public will have several opportunities to provide their input on the natural hazards they face and the best ways to potentially mitigate them,” said Jeff Kelley, Comal County emergency management coordinator.

A completed HMAP will make the county eligible for additional federal grants in addition to helping Comal County increase its preparedness in the event of an emergency.

Public comments can be made by email to [email protected], and the HMAP survey can be found at www.cognitoforms.com/ComalCounty1/HazardMitigationActionPlanSurvey.
