The New Braunfels City Council met Oct. 24 and approved two resolutions to create large municipal utility districts and development agreements within the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction in Comal and Guadalupe counties.
The creation of the Sky Ranch MUD consisting of 310.332 acres was approved on the consent agenda by council. The property includes 59.331 acres on the northwest corner of the intersection of Kroesche Lane and Westmeyer Road adjacent to the Stars & Stripes Drive-In Theatre.
An additional 251.001 acres on the south side of Westmeyer Road and east of Airport Road is a portion of the land approved for the Sky Ranch development by council. A development agreement between the city of New Braunfels and East Park Place was approved with the agreement of the creation of the Sky Ranch MUD.
Council also approved the creation of Guadalupe County MUD 5 within the city’s ETJ consisting of approximately 299.78 acres on the north side of FM 725 west of the Bandit Golf Course in the Long Creek subdivision and south of the intersection of Altwein Lane and FM 725. The development agreement between New Braunfels and Highlander NB One was also approved with the agenda item.
