New Braunfels City Council approved a $210,000 grant from the New Braunfels Economic Development Corp. to renew a contract with the SPARK Small Business Center during its Sept. 12 regular meeting.

Also known as the University of Texas at San Antonio Small Business Development Center New Braunfels Satellite Office, the office provides free advising, market research, referrals and workshops for small businesses and prospective small-business owners.

The council members also approved the fiscal year 2022-23 budget and tax rate and deliberated the renewal of an economic development contract between the New Braunfels Economic Development Corp. and the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce during their Sept. 12 meeting.
