“The annual Fireworks Spectacular over Landa Park is such a fun tradition for our community,” said Chad Donegan, interim parks and recreation director. “There’s nothing better than seeing family and friends come together to celebrate our nation’s independence in their hometown parks.”
The gist
Sponsored by HEB, the fireworks are fired over Landa Lake and are viewable throughout Landa Park, the Landa Park Golf Course at Comal Springs, and the Fredericksburg Baseball Fields. Seating on the golf course begins at 6 p.m., and the putting greens are off-limits. The fireworks can also be seen in several other places around the city, including Fischer Park, according to the city.
The Sophienburg Museum will also be hosting an early morning parade around downtown New Braunfels on July 4 beginning at 9:15 a.m. The parade route begins at Castell Avenue and Bridge Street and moves to San Antonio Street, around the Main Plaza, and disbands at Seguin Avenue and Zink Street. The parade is followed by a short patriotic musical program by the New Braunfels Community Band on the Main Plaza.
The specifics
“Remember, without a permit, the possession or use of any kind of firework is illegal inside the city limits of New Braunfels,” Chief of Police Keith Lane said. “So, leave the fireworks to the professionals, and enjoy the show in Landa Park.”
Residents and visitors are encouraged by the city to come early, expect large crowds, and be mindful of park rules. The fireworks show will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. and local radio station KGNB 1420 AM/103.1 FM will have a live broadcast of patriotic music timed to accompany the display.
