After a two-year break, the Chosen Half Marathon is set to return to New Braunfels in November and will be hosted by Two Rivers Running.

The local running store assumed operations of the half marathon, 5K and kid’s race events while Chosen Care Inc. will remain the primary beneficiary of the race.

“After the pandemic hiatus, we are delighted that Two Rivers Running has agreed to resume the operations of the race so the Chosen team can focus on our primary mission to help children heal from trauma.” Chosen Half Marathon CEO Jenni Lord said in a press release.

The race was previously called “The Prettiest Race in Texas” and has been renamed to “The Two Rivers Half.”

Owner of Two Rivers, Michelle Blomstedt, said in the release that the race will still follow River Road, and the business is recruiting committee members and race sponsors.

The Chosen Half Marathon was founded in 2010, and a portion of proceeds directly benefits Chosen’s work to support children and families affected by the child welfare system, according to the release.

This year's race will take place Nov. 20, and more information about registration, race day timelines and transportation can be found online.
