Early voting began June 5 for the New Braunfels City Council District 6 runoff election.

Of the three candidates that ran for the spot in the May 6 election, no one received a majority of the votes cast, prompting a runoff between the top two candidates—April Ryan and Steven Voges.

Ryan received 46.79% of the vote, followed by Voges with 28.44%. Incumbent James Blakey received 24.77% of the vote.

Early voting runs from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. through June 9, then from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. June 10 and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. June 12-13 at the Comal County Elections Office, 396 N. Seguin Ave.

Election day is June 17 and will be held from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. in the lobby of the former location of the New Braunfels Police Department, 1488 S. Seguin Ave.
