Long Creek High School in New Braunfels ISD is anticipated to open to both freshman and sophomore students in time for the 2024-25 school year. The district released details pertaining to the opening of the school, including attendance zones, timelines, academic programing, transfer exemptions and an informational parent video.

A closer look

The campus will be the second high school in the growing district of NBISD and an expansion to the 9th Grade Center. Phase 1 of construction is anticipated to be completed in summer 2024 and encompass academic wings, a new baseball and softball field, and career and technical education classrooms. Ninth to 12th grades will be utilizing the campus by the 2026-27 school year, according to the district.

Voters passed the construction of Long Creek High School under the 2021 bond in two propositions, totaling $327.9 million in projects, to address growth, aging facilities, athletic upgrades and technology.

The district will be hosting two in-person parent meeting sessions, where information will be presented on the opening, and those attending will have the opportunity to ask questions.
  • Sept. 12, 6 p.m.: Oak Run Middle School, 15 Oak Run Point, New Braunfels
  • Sept. 14, 6 p.m.: New Braunfels Middle School, 608 Settlers Crossing, New Braunfels
The district also asked parents to complete a survey after reviewing the information provided to give feedback on the plans in place to open the school.
