Comal ISD will be providing immunization clinics to students ahead of the upcoming school year.

Two additional immunization clinics have been added by the district. School-aged children through the age of 18 may participate in the clinic and can register through an online form, but walk-ins will also be accepted.

The details

Clinic times and locations Aug. 18:
  • 8-10 a.m. at Pieper Ranch Middle School, 1106 Kinder Parkway, San Antonio
  • 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Canyon Middle School, 2014 FM 1101, New Braunfels
According to the district, all insurance policies will be verified, and out-of-pocket costs will be $10 per shot. When completing registration information, “NA” can be written in for all insurance questions if the family does not have health insurance. A vaccine consent form can be found online in both English and Spanish.

The specifics


The following immunizations will be offered, according to the district:
  • Pre-K and kindergarten: DTP/IPV/MMR/varicella, possibly hepatitis A, hepatitis B
  • Sixth and incoming seventh grades: MCV4, or meningitis, and Tdap, or booster tetanus, required for seventh grade. HPV optional.
  • 12th grade: MCV4, or meningitis, required for colleges. Men B, optional two-shot series for the fifth strain of meningitis.
