Comal ISD has announced that all campuses and departments will be closed Feb. 1. The district also closed campuses Jan. 31 out of an abundance of caution after reviewing the forecasted weather and road conditions and consulting with the National Weather Service, according to the district.

Because the district covers 589 square miles, some areas in the Hill Country portion of the district may experience more icing than areas along the I-35 corridor, Comal ISD said.

The closure includes all scheduled athletic and fine arts events before, during and after school hours for Feb. 1. The district asks that parents look for additional communication from the student’s coach, director or principal regarding dates and times as to when the event is being rescheduled.
