Bobbi Supak, assistant superintendent of human resources for CISD, presented a request for approximately 65 campus-level positions needed to serve the growing district.
“These positions are needed in order to accommodate the projected 1,600 new students for the 2022-23 school year," Supak said. “We want to recruit early in anticipation of the district growth and find high-quality teachers.”
The board unanimously approved the request, and district staff are expected to make additional staffing requests later this spring, Supak said.
According to board documents, approximately $4.5 million will be allocated to funding the positions from the district budget.
Contracts have already been offered to 10 new teachers for next school year outside of the positions approved Feb. 24, Supak said, and staff are expected to present a comprehensive staffing and compensation plan to the board in April or May.
