Community members can visit one of six locations throughout the region to donate new school supplies to Communities in Schools ahead of the 2021-22 school year during the annual Pack the Bus event.

Each year, CIS collects new materials for students who otherwise might not have the supplies they need to be prepared for a new school year.

CIS staff will be at each H-E-B location in Bulverde, Seguin, Schertz and New Braunfels on Aug. 7 to collect monetary donations as well as donated supplies. Collected materials will be made available to students throughout the year.

In partnership with the program, H-E-B stores will have donation opportunities at their checkstands, and donations will also be accepted at the CIS office located at 161 S. Castell Ave., New Braunfels.

According to CIS, the items most needed include wide-ruled composition books, reusable water bottles, large backpacks, washable markers and more.
