A press release from the district states CISD hired Erin Wright, M.D. to help develop district health policies and procedures and provide continuing education and skills training for campus nurses and staff.
The release states Wright has served as a physician for more than 13 years and is also a hospitalist at New Braunfels- and San Antonio-area hospitals, where she examines individuals as they are admitted, orders X-rays and diagnostic tests, and prescribes medical treatment.
Dr. Emily Briggs held the role of medical consultant for seven years before being replaced by Wright.
“We will look to Erin to provide our district with a fresh perspective on increasingly complex health services for our school district,” CISD Superintendent Andrew Kim said in the release.
