On May 5, Gov. Greg Abbott announced that Texas school districts may hold outdoor graduation ceremonies beginning June 1.

Comal Independent School District will hold graduation ceremonies for its high schools beginning June 2, with Comal Academy seniors participating with their home campus.

The dates and times for outdoor ceremonies are as follows:

  • Memorial Early College High School's graduation will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, at the Canyon High School stadium.

  • Canyon High School's ceremony will be at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, at the Canyon High School stadium.

  • Canyon Lake High School graduation will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, at the Canyon Lake High School stadium.

  • Smithson Valley High School graduation will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 5, at the Smithson Valley High School stadium.


In accordance with safety guidelines issued by the Texas Education Agency, each graduate will be limited to five guest tickets to allow attendees to maintain social distance.

The ceremonies will be broadcast live for those who cannot attend and a virtual graduation ceremony for each campus will be held on Saturday, May 30.
