The Comal County Extension Office will remain closed through May 18 but classes are still being offered online.
“Until it’s safe for us to begin offering in-person classes, this is the next best thing,” said Connie Sheppard, Comal County extension agent for family and community health. “The expertise and insight of extension agents from across the state is available in your home at any time, day or night.”
The Extension Office offers cooking classes such as the free, three-lesson course "Eating Well for Healthy Living" and the $20 class titled "Cooking Well, Exploring Cultures," which is a four-lesson series featuring recipes from India, the Philippines, the Mexican interior and Poland.
“Just because we can’t meet in person doesn’t mean we can’t cook great meals together,” Sheppard said. “These classes are excellent opportunities to make sure we’re staying healthy during a stressful time.”
