Comal County reported two cases of the coronavirus on Thursday morning and both were New Braunfels residents.

There were 20 county residents with active cases of the virus. All are self-isolated at home except for five that are hospitalized.

The cases announced today were in their 20s and 30s. They bring the city's total case count to 73 across both Comal and Guadalupe counties.

In Guadalupe County, two new cases were reported on the county's online dashboard, but locations of the residents have not been announced. There were two Guadalupe residents reported as hospitalized.

Of those cases from both counties, 25 were reported since Monday, June 1—a 10.5% increase. Guadalupe was home to 11 of those cases and Comal had the other 14.

There have been 3,321 COVID-19 tests performed in Comal County, of which 1,435 were done for statewide testing of all nursing home staff and residents, according to a press release issued by the county June 4.

The Comal County Office of Public Health performed 1,083 antibody tests, tracked separately, that can reveal previous infections of the virus.

12 of those tests returned positive results but are not included in the county's case count because their residence is not tracked. That figure, provided by the Office of Public Health, is also not representative of all antibody testing done within the county.
