Residents of New Braunfels can share their input during a public meeting scheduled for March 7 and hosted by the New Braunfels Bond Advisory Committee.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the New Braunfels Civic and Convention Center, and attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about potential projects that could be included in a proposed 2023 bond.

In December, City Council appointed 24 members to the advisory committee, and the group has met several times this year to review projects in the city’s Capital Improvement Plan that could be included in the bond package, according to the city.

Transportation, drainage, public safety, economic development, and parks and recreation projects are among those that have been considered by the committee.

Following the public input meeting, the committee is expected to finalize a project list to be reviewed by City Council. Each project will undergo a preliminary engineering study to determine estimated costs and feasibility, according to city documents.

“The committee is eager to get feedback from the public,” Bond Committee Chair Ray Still said in a city press release. “This includes support or dissent for projects that are currently under consideration or information about other projects that members of the public would like the committee to consider.”

Residents can visit the city’s proposed 2023 bond website for more information about the bond, projects under consideration and the advisory committee.
