During a May 10 meeting, New Braunfels City Council voted unanimously to accept the canvassed results of the election held May 1.

The election included 18 charter amendments, which included changes to City Council terms, clarified the mayor's role during an emergency or disaster, and required the city manger to provide City Council with a five-year financial forecast and capital improvement plan.

Harry Bowers held onto his District 3 City Council seat, and Lawrence Spradley will take over the District 4 seat from Matthew Hoyt, who did not run for re-election.

In a separate May 10 meeting, New Braunfels ISD swore in two board of trustee members and approved the appointment of a new superintendent.
