Das Rec, the city's
77,000-square-foot recreation facility, is accepting applications for its fee-assistance program April 1-30.
The Das Rec Fee Assistance Program allows New Braunfels residents membership opportunities and access to programs and services at a reduced rate.
Awards are based on income and family size and are available to anyone who qualifies, including seniors. Applicants will be required to complete supporting documentation showing financial hardship. Discounts range from 20-75 percent and are determined based on the Department Housing and Urban Development income guidelines.
“Funding for the fee-assistance program was raised at the Black Ties and Tennies, a Das Rec Scholarship Gala held prior to the opening of Das Rec," Das Rec Manager Kelsey Heiden said in a news release. "Through the New Braunfels Parks Foundation, many local businesses and community members contributed to the event that successfully raised over $90,000. In our inaugural year of the program, we were able to serve 47 families.”
Applications are available online at
www.dasrec.com or in-person at Das Rec, New Braunfels Recreation Center, 345 Landa St. For additional information about Das Rec or the fee-assistance program, contact Heiden at
