After closing for inclement weather on Tuesday, the city of New Braunfels announced its offices will be open during regular business hours on Jan. 17.

The icy road conditions have also affected the city’s solid waste and recycling collection schedule. Residents with a designated Tuesday collection day will have collection shifted to Jan. 17. Those with Wednesday collection will shift to Jan. 18, and those with Thursday collection will shift to Jan. 19.

In addition, the South Castell Avenue Visioning Plan public meeting that was scheduled for Jan. 16 has been postponed. Public notice of the revised date will be released at a later time, officials said in a news release.
The city encourages the public to monitor www.nbtexas.org for further announcements.

New Braunfels Utilities will open for business Jan. 17 at 8 a.m. NBU Customer Service Manager Wendy Thompson said the company has received several inquiries about late payments that resulted from the closure of their offices Jan. 16.

“We do not run the penalty process on due dates that fall on a day that NBU closes due to inclement weather conditions, so customers do not have to worry that they will be charged a late fee because we were closed on Tuesday,” Thompson said in a statement.

NBU who need to report an outage or service issue are asked to call the 24/7 NBU Control Center at 830-629-4628.
