From Dec. 27-Jan. 20, Comal County’s Moe Schwab Recycling Center, located at 281 Resource Drive in New Braunfels, will begin accepting live holiday greenery, including Christmas trees and garland, at no cost.
Artificial trees and greenery will not be accepted, and all other brush will be subject to usual recycling fees. Residents should remove tinsel, ornaments and other decorations before bringing their greenery to the center.
“This is a service we provide to county residents every year,” said James Tart, coordinator of the Moe Schwab Recycling Center, in a news release. “We’d rather mulch this greenery and offer it back to residents for use in their gardens than have it sitting in the landfill.”
