A New Braunfels-based baker is set to appear on a nationally-televised cooking show.

Ashley Landerman, co-owner of 2tarts Bakery, will appear on Food Network’s “Christmas Cookie Challenge.” Landerman's episode, entitled “Homemade Holidays,” will appear Nov. 4 at 10 p.m. on the Food Network channel.

After a months-long application process, Landerman was selected to compete on the program, in which bakers face-off in two baking competitions that last two hours and four hours, respectively. Judges Matt Adlard, Ree Drummond and Brandi Milloy choose the eventual winner and recipient of a $10,000 cash-prize.

“The whole experience was incredible,” Landerman said. “I was definitely super nervous, but it drives my concentration and creativity. Plus, I really liked hanging out with the other competitors. I mean, who better to pass time with than people who love baking as much as I do?”

The cookies Landerman baked on the program will be available during the holiday season at 2tarts Bakery, 139 N. Castell Ave., New Braunfels.
