Blumen-Meisters Flower Market, a New Braunfels floral shop, has been in business for more than 20 years, and owner Teia Bennett said it continues to expand and reach new customers every day. Bennett started her journey with Blumen-Meisters as a part-time employee. “I got into the business three years ago. My kids were going to school, and I needed something to do, so I went in and started working,” Bennett said. She did not have much design experience when she started, but she said she grew to love it as well as the people who worked there. Sheri Jentsch, the previous owner, still works at the shop on occasion. “Sheri pushed me through to go to design school and pushed me and excelled me into places that I didn’t know I could go, and I had a passion for it,” Bennett said. Soon it turned into a full-time job, and when Jentsch decided to step down, Bennett knew she wanted to continue with the business. She purchased the shop last year and kept the same crew of employees, so everyone who works there has been with Bennett since she started working part-time. “We have a bit of a different style, and we carry a lot of flowers that you might not see every day, and we have amazing designers that can pretty much do anything you want,” she said. Blumen-Meisters offers flower arrangements for many occasions, including prom, weddings and special events. Bennett said she loves the unique designs found at Blumen-Meisters, but the business also offers everyday pieces. “I just try to carry something different that you’re not going to find in any other shop,” she said. Blumen-Meisters is flourishing into more than a flower shop. It now carries jewelry and items from a small clothing line from Belgium. In regard to future growth, Bennett said she hopes to continue expanding the business into wedding and event rentals and hone in more on the wedding industry. Blumen-Meisters Flower Market 111 S.
