Worth the trip: Cavern Crawl 5K

The third annual Cavern Crawl 5K takes place from 8-11 a.m. at Natural Bridge Caverns, 26495 Natural Bridge Caverns Road, San Antonio. Medals will be given to the top three contenders in each age group. Proceeds benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Online registration is closed. FolkFest 2018

The public is invited to attend a 19th-century family heritage festival for all ages. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. (Saturday), 11 a.m.-5 p.m. (Sunday). $2-$5 admission, free admission for those who dress in a time period costume. Train show

The 30th annual Train Show Jamboree, sponsored by the New Braunfels Railroad Museum, features an extra-large exhibit of Lego trains, several traveling model railroad displays, more than 60 vendors, hourly prize drawings, a silent auction and a mini food court. There will also be opportunities to buy, sell or swap. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. (Saturday), 10 a.m.-4 p.m. (Sunday) $8 (adults 14 and older), $2 (children ages 3-13). Berry White Soul Brunch
