Travis Askey took his formal oath of office during a Jan. 22 West Lake Hills City Council meeting, officially making him the new West Lake Hills city administrator.

Askey, who formally worked as the Bee Cave city manager, was officially hired Jan. 15 during a special called council meeting, where he was formally introduced to the public. The role that was filled by Robert Wood for the past 12 years has been open since Aug. 28.

Askey received an education in business management and public administration from the University of Redlands in Irvine, California, and is a member of the Lake Travis and Bee Cave chambers of commerce and the Texas City Management Association.

“We’re very fortunate to have Travis join us. He’s got a wealth of financial information and a great background,” Mayor Linda Anthony said. “ Given where we are at this time, Travis is the perfect fit for us.”
