Liberty Hill City Council made progress toward paving the parking lot and making other improvements to City Park at its April 9 meeting.

Council voted to approve an engineering contract with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $148,000.

Two-minute Impact

The vote initiated the engineering process for Phase 1 of improvement projects at the park, which will see the parking lot paved and the addition of lights and landscaping.

According to agenda documents, Phase 1 was the phase of improvements most-desired by residents. The contract approved April 9 includes engineering services that will guide the paving of the parking lot and the addition of lights and landscaping.

The project will make the parking lot “a lot prettier and safer,” said Katie Amsler, director of community engagement and communications.

What else?

According to a draft of the contract, the engineering process will take about 9 months.
