Shady Brew Garden was approved for a special-use permit at Leander City Council’s June 1 meeting, paving the way for its upcoming food truck park, which will be located west of the Wildfire Park.

The specifics

Located at 303 W. Broade St., Leander, the portion of land that was approved for Shady Brew Garden’s upcoming food truck park is roughly 0.94 acres in size.

The special-use permit will last for 10 years and allows food trucks as well as other associated uses, such as farmers markets, Executive Director of Development Services Robin Griffin said at the meeting. Other uses allowed under this permit include live music and private events.

Similar to Wildfire Park and Smooth Village, Shady Brew Garden will be required to build a sidewalk with the site along Broade Street, Griffin said. She also said there is one existing structure on the property that Shady Brew Garden is allowed to remodel.

The business plans to sell beer, wine and coffee through up to four on-site food trucks between 7 a.m.-10 p.m. daily, according to meeting documents. According to Shady Brew Garden’s social media accounts, it will have a playscape or a kids space and a dog park in addition to the food trucks and beverages.
