Leander residents came out May 3 to vote in three City Council races.
Place 1
Stephen Chang has won a tight race for Place 1 against challenger Natomi Blair. In one of the closest races of the night, Chang won the seat with 50.79% to Blair's 49.21%.
Place 3
Incumbent Place 3 council member David McDonald withstood a challenge from Annette Sponseller.
McDonald took 57.23% of the vote to Sponseller's 42.77%.
Place 5
In the race for council seat Place 5, Andrew Naudin and Donnie Mahan threw their hats in the ring to replace outgoing council member Chris Czernek. On election night, Naudin won the seat, earning 51.31% of the vote compared to Mahan's 48.69%.

Williamson County reported a 5.1% turnout for the election, with roughly 14,271 votes counted. The county has 280,581 registered voters.
