Why are you running for this position?

I am running for re-election to serve the school and community I love.

If elected, what are your goals for Liberty Hill ISD?

My goals are ensuring LHISD's vision, mission, beliefs, and goals are living in our classrooms, and that our staff have what they need to just do it right and achieve success.

What are some of the biggest challenges facing Liberty Hill ISD, and how would you work to address them?

The biggest challenges today are securing high-quality teachers and suitable funding for high-quality schools. We must collaborate to develop working environments, training, and benefits that attract and support all staff. We need to stay financially responsible while working with legislators to appropriately fund public schools.

What changes would you like to see addressed at the state level regarding public education?

Public education is part of the Texas legacy. Representatives need to listen and respect educators' input in developing growing goals, funding school districts, and building our future workforce. Part of this work is keeping local control in our local communities and working as partners with schools.

LHISD challenges are growing pains. We need to invest in student[s] and give them the best facilities to achieve excellence. Construction of new facilities should stay within budget but still have quality work. We need committees with parents, staff, students and community for suggestions/input on needs.

At state level, I would like to see more money given to schools. We must invest in students’ future[s]. More money for high pay for teachers, classroom supplies, etc. Excellence is achieved by giving our future tools to succeed.
