Liberty Hill ISD is nearing the completion of two new schools while construction work at several other campuses is underway or scheduled to begin.

LHISD Director of Construction Dustin Akin provided updates on various construction projects in the district at a May 6 special board of trustees meeting.

The breakdown

The district is working to construct the following new campuses and facilities.

Tierra Rosa Elementary
  • Completion: this summer
  • Project budget: $47.7 million
  • Update: Finishes are underway with mechanical, engineering and plumbing work in progress. Landscaping will commence, and furniture is scheduled to arrive July 8.
Legacy Ranch Middle School
  • Completion: this summer
  • Project budget: $95.3 million
  • Update: Finishes are underway with mechanical, engineering and plumbing work in progress. The football field and track are complete, and the district will install the new centerfield logo. Furniture is scheduled to arrive July 17.
Legacy Ranch High School
  • Completion: August 2026
  • Project budget: $284.9 million (school), $20 million (stadium)
  • Update: Tennis courts, and baseball and softball fields are scheduled to be completed in August for high school students to use while they are housed at Legacy Ranch Middle School. Work on a performing arts center is also underway.
Liberty Hill ISD 18-plus Building
  • Completion: this August
  • Project budget: $5 million
  • Update: Asbestos abatement and demolition work has been completed. The district is renovating an existing 13,359-square-foot building behind its administration building for the program.
Liberty Hill ISD Technology Building
  • Completion: TBD
  • Project budget: $2 million
  • Update: The district will renovate a field house east of Louine Noble Elementary for a new technology building. Asbestos abatement and demolition work has been completed. The board approved the first guaranteed maximum price of $1.8 million using 2021 bond funds at the May 6 meeting.

Additionally, the district has renovated and expanded Liberty Hill Middle School and Liberty Hill High School.

Liberty Hill Middle School
  • Completion: this summer
  • Project budget: $52.1 million
  • Update: Upgrades to the fine arts area and library are in progress. Exterior improvements, including window openings and paint, are ongoing. Over the past year, the district has added classrooms, science labs and administrative space; expanded the kitchen and cafeteria with an outdoor eating area; and refreshed the gym.
At Liberty Hill High School, the district has opened a new career and technical education building; resurfaced its tennis courts; added secure entry vestibules; and expanded its weight room, girls locker rooms and stadium seating, Akin said. The high school expansions were budgeted at around $7.1 million while the stadium expansions were nearly $6.4 million.

The district has also installed a perimeter fence around the high school’s agricultural barn, he said.

  • Sidewalk addition at Rancho Sienna Elementary
  • Playground installation at Louine Noble Elementary
  • Secure vestibule upgrades at Rancho Sienna and Bill Burden elementaries
  • Press box upgrades at LHHS
  • Turf replacement at LHHS’ Panther Stadium, and baseball and softball fields
  • Success Academy and Disciplinary Alternative Education Program
  • Concession and restrooms at LHHS
  • Road extension and island parking at LHHS
