Central Texas business owner Mike Farr and his sons Bradley and Dylan Farr collaborated to open Wish Kitchen + Bar in downtown Liberty Hill last month. The new business opened on Nov. 28, selling familiar classics from the Nutty Brown Amphitheatre menu, along with drinks, burgers, salads, and more.

The Background

Farr owned Nutty Brown Amphitheatre, which rebranded and relocated to Round Rock as Round Rock Amp, according to previous Community Impact reporting. Farr said that his sons grew up working at Nutty Brown Amphitheatre as dishwashers, bartenders and eventually managers.

Bradley and Dylan Farr have run Round Rock Amp for the last four concert seasons and are now venturing into Liberty Hill with Wish Kitchen + Bar.

“I wanted my sons to have an opportunity to be partners in a bar and restaurant, and this seemed like a really good place for their first go at it,” Mike Farr said.

On the menu

Popular dishes include the Nutty Brown Shrimp Wontons, which were previously served at Nutty Brown Amphitheatre for 20 years. The dish includes jumbo shrimp wrapped in a wonton wrapper with jalapenos, crispy bacon, and mixed cheese, fried and served with chipotle ranch.

The Wish Kitchen + Bar menu also includes salads and burgers. All menu items, except for baked goods like buns and tortillas, are made from scratch in-house, Mike Farr said. Additionally, the new spot has a full bar with cocktails, beer and wine.

One more thing

The theme for Wish Kitchen + Bar is centered around all things that people can wish upon, including dandelions, coins, eyelashes and ladybugs. Mike Farr said the theme came to him after seeing a shooting star from his back patio in Dripping Springs.
