Leander City Council unanimously approved a special use permit May 16, which allows Night Owl to operate two food trucks and place a permanent vintage truck on the 0.18-acre property.

The permit allows the Night Owl team to add a second food truck to the property and permanently leave the bar’s existing food truck on-site, Executive Director of Development Services Robin Griffin said during the May 16 City Council meeting.

Additionally, the team is adding a 1952 Ford pickup truck as a decorative piece to the yard, according to a May 7 letter of intent. The truck will have signage with Night Owl’s logo and a request for patrons not to climb on the vehicle.

Night Owl Bar features an upscale cocktail lounge indoors with a family-friendly backyard Texas barbecue concept outdoors, according to previous Community Impact reporting. The bar’s backyard area includes a big display screen for movies and sporting events as well as games.
The bar’s drink menu is made up of signature cocktails named after Leander neighborhoods in addition to classic cocktail options.
