In 2025, developers, government entities and Leander ISD submitted more than a hundred projects to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for the Leander area. Here is a look at the six most costly projects, many of which will begin or finish construction in 2026.

Leander ISD Early Childhood Center

Project: The center is expected to have a capacity for about 600 3- and 4-year-old prekindergarten students and feature:
  • Five learning pods with literacy areas, free play stations and meals
  • Outdoor play areas with covered porches, gardens, trike tracks and free play areas
  • A gym, media center, administrative offices and community resource spaces
  • Space for the Parents as Teachers program
Timeline: broke ground in 2025 and is estimated to be completed in 2026

Cost: According to the TDLR permit, the construction cost will exceed $48 million. The district allocated more than $60 million in 2023 bond funds for the project.

ECHO Suites


Project: The hotel chain will open a location near the Northline district.

Timeline: late 2025-late 2026, according to the TDLR filing

Cost: $11 million

Montfort Storage


Project: The storage company will open a three-story building at 805 S. Bagdad Road, Leander, according to the filing.

Timeline: August 2025-September 2026

Cost: $8,835,300

Four buildings at Northline


Project: Northline is a nearly $1 billion, 116-acre development that will combine commercial and residential space with a modern aesthetic that the city hopes will be a draw for residents and tourists, according to previous Community Impact reporting. The 2025 TDLR filing focuses on four buildings.

Timeline: September 2025-September 2026

Cost: $8 million

Southwest Regional Park field and track upgrades


Project: The work includes resurfacing the track and converting some areas from grass to turf.

Timeline: February to November

Cost: $7.8 million

Sprouts Farmers Market


Project: Grocery retailer Sprouts Farmers Market is set to open a 25,000-square-foot store in Leander, according to information listed with the TDLR.

Timeline: The new Leander store is expected to open in 2027, a Sprouts spokesperson previously confirmed with Community Impact.

Cost: $5.8 million
