An emerging apartment complex in the mixed-use development Crystal Village is expected to reach completion in fall 2024, with work on the restaurant and retail components happening concurrently.

Zooming in

Called The Evergrove, the new apartment complex sits on 15 acres and will have just under 350 units.

Construction on the apartment complex began in June 2022, and the shell of the buildings have now been completed, said Sharon Beeson, chief financial officer at Koniag Real Estate.

QuikTrip is also under construction at Crystal Village and is expected to reach completion in early 2024. Also planned for the development is Southside Market & Barbeque and Culver’s, which are now in the permitting process.

Beeson said negotiations are being made to bring Sprouts Farmers Market, Texas Roadhouse, Starbucks and Estância Brazilian Steakhouse to the development.

The background

Crystal Village is a 65-acre mixed-use development located on the southeast corner of 183A Toll and East Crystal Falls Parkway in Leander that has been under construction since 2021, according to previous Community Impact reporting.

The development will offer parkland, biking and walking trails, restaurant, retail, office and medical space in addition to the multifamily housing.

Beeson said roughly 24 out of the 65 acres have been claimed for development at Crystal Village. She expects that 2024 will be “a busy year” for the development as a lot of tenants, such as Southside Market & Barbeque, plan to be open by then.

While dirt continues to turn at Crystal Village, Beeson said the development is still in “infant stages” of exploring different users and tenants.

Although Crystal Village is expected to be developed in phases, Beeson said she anticipates the development to be fully completed in roughly five years. Still, she said the completion of the development will be driven by the market and the demand of the Leander community.
