Liberty Hill is getting its first Whataburger.

Liberty Hill City Council on Sept. 24 approved the site plan for a Whataburger location at 12925 Hwy. 29.

The gist

The plan includes a 3,305 square foot building with a drive through and 36 parking spaces on 1.31 acres, according to agenda documents.

Customers will be able to access the restaurant from Hwy. 29, and the property is part of the Heritage Ridge subdivision, according to the documents.

Additionally, the property is located within the city limits, and the city will receive full sales tax from the business rather than having to share it with the local emergency services district as is the case with some businesses.

What they’re saying

Finance Director Josh Armstrong said the incoming restaurant will have a range of benefits for the city.

“The benefits are always going to be the sales tax that you get from the business,” he told Community Impact.

Armstrong went on to mention that having more options in the city will improve the quality of life for residents.

“[Whataburger] provides additional options and I think that is something that we want to be able to do,” he said.

What else?

No firm timeline was given for the project, but the site plan approval was required before construction could begin.

This update comes after a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing had previously estimated the location would be complete in November.
