Some context
Hormone imbalances can cause symptoms such as low energy, anxiety and hot flashes, as stated on the business’s website. The center offers women’s hormone replacement therapy and testosterone replacement therapy to help relieve these symptoms.
Meet the owners
Co-owner Tyler Parsons founded True Test with three partners in 2021 with the vision to open multiple locations across the country. Parsons and his wife, Cara Parsons, opened the Leander clinic after she experienced benefits from hormone therapy firsthand.
“I remember going to Tyler one day and I said, ‘We are doing this. We have to start opening clinics,’” Cara Parsons said. “It improved my life in literally every facet and I wanted to do this for other people.”
Cara Parsons said she wanted the company to emphasize quality customer service.
“That definitely framed how we wanted to operate our business and how we wanted to stand out," she said.
What they offer
True Test offers hormone therapy, which is paid for in a monthly membership format. It also offers peptides and weight loss services that are paid for a la carte.
The business offers free consultations, which begins with blood work before discussing a treatment plan. Unlike other medical practitioners, the business does not accept insurance, which removes the restrictions of what insurance would put on certain procedures and services, Parsons said.
The impact
Parsons says the affordability of the business’ services are what make it stand out.
“I think a lot of times people think this is out of reach and they just don’t have the education on it,” he said. “What I used to pay for care is almost three times what we would charge in our clinic.”
The clinic also focuses on preventative care, and True Test’s clinicians can identify any possible issues through blood work results.
“People can learn a lot of things about their bodies that they didn't know and at least they have a plan of action moving forward,” Parsons said.
