Isle Acre Farms launched a veggie-picking farm in May.

Led by Pete and Becky Tamez, Isle Acre Farms specializes in organically grown produce and offers a variety of vegetable selections including tomatoes, squash, carrots and onions. The business relocated from Leander to Liberty Hill in April 2023.

Isle Acre Farms previously offered a farm stand, which had a similar layout to a farmers market, Becky Tamez said. The new pick-your-own veggie farm, however, provides the community with an opportunity to harvest their own produce.

“People are getting a fun experience—a family day out on the farm; they get dirty, they get to be involved in regenerative agriculture, and they get to experience what we experience as farmers but for themselves,” she said.

The veggie-picking farm will be open May through July, and will close in August and September. Becky Tamez said the farm will then reopen in the fall.

The farm charges an admission fee of $5 per person, Becky Tamez said. There are also additional costs per pound based on what is picked from the farm. Visitors must register in advance to attend.

The veggie-picking farm is open to customers on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
