Local brewpub 5th Element Brewing is scheduled to open on June 30 in Old Town Leander after several years of delays.

Co-owner Mike Brune said 5th Element Brewing produces artisan beer created with water profiles built from scratch for each different brew. He said the brewpub will feature a beer garden with plans for a dog run and play area for kids in the future.

The brewery was originally set to open at the end of 2018. However, Brune said struggles with the pandemic, supply chain and rising costs caused the opening to be pushed back.

Brune said 5th Element Brewing is “finally ready to open,” and he is “excited to start pouring beers for the community." Located at 100 E. Evans St., Leander, the brewery is owned by Brune along with his wife, Kimberly Destefano-Brune.

The brewpub’s grand opening party is being scheduled for mid-July.
