Owner Shauna Wardlaw established Fletcher’s Florals in Liberty Hill in August 2021 after initially operating the business out of her home.

Fletcher’s Florals is named after Wardlaw’s first Great Dane, who died shortly after moving into her home in Liberty Hill. Naming the business after Fletcher was a tribute to him, she said.

Located off Hwy. 29, Fletcher’s Florals specializes in fresh, custom-made flower arrangements for special occasions, events and holidays. Customers can get bouquets with their choice of flowers, colors, sizes and shapes as well as cards, party favors and decor.

Being one of two florists in the Liberty Hill area, Wardlaw said her clients’ favorite aspect about Fletcher’s Florals is the attention to small details.

“My priority is making sure that I’m creating something that the person who is receiving it is going to like,” she said. “It’s not about me; it’s about whoever is going to be taking it home.”

The shop offers a boutique feel, a smaller cooler—which allows the opportunity to rotate the floral arrangements more frequently, keeping them fresh—and specialty flowers that are not found in typical grocery stores. Wardlaw said these features set Fletcher’s apart from other florists.

Some of the commonly ordered flowers at Fletcher’s include peonies, dahlias, hydrangeas, and pink or purple roses.

Since opening, Wardlaw said Fletcher’s has been very well received by the Liberty Hill community, and her customer base is continuing to grow. With the business being on the frontage road of Hwy. 29, it is visible and accessible to everyday commuters.

Fletcher’s Florals is a sponsor of the bimonthly Liberty Hill Pop Up Market, which is free for vendors, but costs are still involved to host and promote the event. Wardlaw said she often provides discounts, donates flowers and gives a portion of the shop’s proceeds back to nonprofits in efforts to give back to the community.

For the remainder of this year, Wardlaw said she hopes to grow the shop’s flower subscriptions and continue to build awareness about the business. In the future, Wardlaw plans to expand the space at Fletcher’s Florals and install a larger walk-in cooler to house a wider selection of flowers.

Wardlaw said there are no plans to expand Fletcher’s Florals to other cities, and right now her “sights are only on Liberty Hill.”

“We are passionate about flowers, and that transforms into passion for our clients and anyone who is coming here looking for flowers,” she said. “At the end of the day, they are our top priority.”
