1. Municipal Drive widening/extension
In October, Leander ISD and the city of Leander plan to finish the extension and widening of Municipal Drive between Bagdad Road and South West Drive near the newly opened Camacho Elementary School.

2. East Whitestone Boulevard pass-through project
Construction delays have postponed the completion of a project to rebuild the intersection of East Whitestone and Parmer Lane/Ronald Reagan Boulevard into a partial continuous-flow intersection. On Aug. 27, Alan Green, senior engineering associate with the city of Cedar Park, said the project was originally scheduled to be done in December and has a revised completion date of June. Green also said engineers will switch westbound traffic on a segment of Whitestone to new lanes so workers can begin construction on Whitestone’s south side. When the project is finished, Whitestone will be widened from four to six lanes between Market Street and CR 175/Sam Bass Road. Whitestone will also have longer turn lanes at the road’s intersections with Toro Grande Drive, Raley Road and Sam Bass. Updates about the project are occasionally

3. Cypress Creek Road/Lakeline Boulevard turn lanes

The city of Cedar Park is widening a bridge on Lakeline Boulevard as part of a project to alter turn lanes at the intersection of Cypress Creek Road and Lakeline Boulevard. Crews are extending dual left-turn lanes on north- and southbound Lakeline as well as widening left- and right-turn lanes and adding medians and two new right-turn lanes on east- and westbound Cypress Creek. The project is meant to improve traffic efficiency and will also relocate sidewalks and streetlights. Updates are occasionally posted on

4. Toll 183A/US 183 intersection
The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority announced Aug. 31 that lane closures are expected throughout September during a project to rebuild the intersection of Toll 183A and US 183 in Leander. The project is intended to give drivers safer turn lane movements and includes roadway widening, new sidewalks and signals as well as improvements to signals and drainage. 5. Anderson Mill Road improvements
The city of Cedar Park is repaving Anderson Mill Road between Whitestone Boulevard and Lime Creek Road. City staffers said the repair could keep Anderson Mill stable until a future project to repair and widen the highway. Engineers are designing the first phase of that project.

6. Old FM 2243 widening
Leander City Council plans to approve a construction bid in October for a project to widen Old FM 2243 from four to five lanes between US 183 and North Lakeline Boulevard. On Aug. 6, City Council approved an interlocal agreement with Williamson County for the 18-month project. The work will likely include relocations of drainage ditches, which will become storm sewers under new lanes. Crews will also add turn lanes for businesses and cross streets.

7. West Whitestone Boulevard center turn lane
After delays, TxDOT in late August resumed work on a project to add a center turn lane on Whitestone Boulevard for about 1.4 miles between Anderson Mill and Bagdad roads.
