In less than seven months, Cedar Park residents will start to see a change at Lime Creek Quarry.

Effective Jan. 1, 2018, outbound commercial trucks will not be allowed to take left turns out of the quarry. The goal is to reduce the volume of truck traffic and increase safety along Anderson Mill Road, according to Sam Roberts, Cedar Park assistant city manager.

“Because outbound trucks are typically loaded with rock that’s being delivered to a customer, they’re heavy, so eliminating those trucks from Anderson Mill Road will reduce the burden on the roadway—the wear and tear.”

The change is part of the city’s lease with Ranger Excavating. Other calendar highlights include Jan. 1, 2022, the day the quarry must cease all blasting operations; and June 30, 2023, the day the lease expires.
