Austin Regional Clinic is expected to double its capacity in Cedar Park when its new facility opens in November.

Darlene Guynes, ARC Cedar Park clinic manager, said the new clinic will be located at 801 E. Whitestone Blvd., Bldg. C, near the existing clinic at 801 E. Whitestone Blvd., Bldg. B, Cedar Park.

The new building will eventually replace the ARC Discovery location at 715 Discovery Blvd., Ste. 117, Cedar Park.

ARC at Medical Plaza, located on Medical Parkway on Cedar Park Regional Medical Center’s campus, will not be affected by the opening of the new facility.

“We’ll have all of our specialties in the new location,” Guynes said. “Our [Building B] will be renovated and turned into same-day and after-hours care.”

Guynes said she estimates the renovation of Building B will be complete in April 2017.

With a new, 20,000-square-foot building and renovations to Building B, ARC Cedar Park will be able to offer more services, including adding radiology to the existing building.

Family medicine and pediatric care will be moved to the new location. ARC broke ground on the new building in January.

“We’ve been in the community for 12 years,” Guynes said. “We’ve seen a steady increase with all of the new home[s] and schools here. We’ve had an increase in demand that we’ll be able to meet now.”

Tony Moline, Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce president, said the area is a “medical hub” for Cedar Park, Leander and surrounding areas.

“The medical profession is blooming in Cedar Park,” he said, citing several new developments such as Cedar Park Emergency Center.

Throughout the development, Guynes said ARC Cedar Park has focused on using a new construction material called Bautex Blocks.

“It’s the first time this is being used in a commercial building,” she said. “It holds in the air conditioning and heating throughout the year, so it’s more environmentally friendly and quiet.”

Moline said using new materials such as Bautex Blocks creates a more energy-efficient building, which can also help lower the cost of doing business in the area.
