Leander’s first freestanding emergency center will open March 10.

The grand opening event will be held from 5-7 p.m., said Laura Balla, director of marketing with emergency center owner Cedar Park Regional Medical Center. The facility will include 9,500 square feet and nine patient rooms. Construction began in May on the facility, which is CPRMC’s first freestanding emergency room operated separately from the hospital, Balla said. The facility will also have on-site medical imaging, she said.

“We’ve had so many new [Leander] residents coming to utilize our hospital and for emergency care,” Balla said. “We have more than 20,000 visits each year to our emergency department. And having the proximity [with the new center] will allow for prompt care.”
