Leander ISD will announce a finalist for the LISD superintendent position at a July 25 special meeting. The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the boardroom of the Support Services Complex, 1900 Cougar Country Drive in Leander. The public is invited. Texas law requires a 21-day waiting period before the new superintendent can sign a contract and begin working for LISD. The new superintendent will replace Dan Troxell, whose last day is July 31. Troxell will be the next deputy executive director for the Texas Association of School Boards, an educational nonprofit that represents and trains school board members across the state. Troxell's stay at LISD lasted less than three years; his first day as LISD superintendent was Aug. 29, 2016. He came from Kerrville ISD, where he served 14 years as superintendent.
