Leander ISD students scored higher on the state assessments compared to the state totals, according to results released by the Texas Education Agency earlier this month.

“We are blessed in Leander ISD to have such talented students, teachers and staff,” said Superintendent of Schools Dan Troxell.

The state education agency released statewide State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, STAAR, scores for grades 3-8 in reading, math, writing, and social studies and End of Course exams for Algebra 1, Biology, English 1 and 2, and U.S. History.

“State assessment scores are just one of many factors we consider when evaluating our success in meeting our families’ and community’s needs,” Troxell said. “As we move forward through our culture of continuous improvement, our goal will be to collaborate across our Leander ISD classrooms to align our high-quality curriculum and to enhance the usage of data to push our students to even higher levels of success.”
