Brandon Evans has been named the new principal of Wiley Middle School as of May 31.

“Mr. Evans is a dynamic leader who has served in our district since 2005 as a teacher, assistant principal and most recently as senior director of Student Support Services,” said Leander ISD Superintendent Dan Troxell in a statement. “Throughout his career, he has proven to have a deep commitment to helping all students reach their full potential. This, coupled with his passion and drive for excellence, will only enhance the great work that is already occurring at Wiley Middle School.”

Evans started teaching in 2004 as a high school agriculture science teacher. He joined Leander ISD the following year as an agriculture science teacher at Vista Ridge High School before becoming an assistant principal at VRHS in 2007. Evans also worked as an assistant principal at Rouse High School for five years. In 2015, he joined LISD’s central administration in the Student Support Services department, first as the assistant director and most recently as the senior director.

Evans earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and his master’s degree from American Intercontinental University.

The former principal of Wiley Middle School, Chris Simpson, was named principal of Leander High School on April 20.
